This interesting critter is called a 'night octopus'! As the name implies, it is only seen at night when it comes out to forage for prey. I've seen these critters dig into and hide out in the sand at dawn when their shift ends and they clock out for some much needed rest. Because of their striking coloration, they are also known as ornate octopus.

This cute little critter is a Spotfin Scorpionfish! It's a very unusual find in the Bay. Then again, he's only 2 inches long and I may have snorkled over him on countless occasions? Go figure!
