These critters are called Humbug Dascyllus. They are found in groups sheltering in the arms of coral heads in shallow lagoons and inshore reef flats. They feed on algae, invertebrates, and zooplankton

This Double Saddle Butterflyfish is fairly common in Tahiti.
It flourishes in the coral rich environment of the central indo-pacific (as do I).
